WEDNESDAY @ 96 WEEKS AND SINGING

Enya - "How Can I Keep From Singing"

Good Morning and welcome to Wednesday in my little corner of the world - I have been up long enough to see the dawn and sunrise which was beautiful this morning, the local bird choir was in full song and I was serenaded into my morning.  A clear sky and sunshine promises me a lovely day - forecast is for rain tomorrow though.

Listening to the birds sing this morning reminded me of this quote "Birds sing after a storm why shouldn't we?"
and with all that is happening in my life - How can I keep from singing.

I survived a liver transplant and a very nasty time with Stevens Johnson - I survived the storm and with the birds "How Can I keep from Singing?"

some lyrics from this song:

"While though the tempest loudly roars,
I hear the truth, it liveth.
And though the darkness 'round me close,
songs in the night it giveth.
No storm can shake my inmost calm,
while to that rock I'm clinging.
Since love is lord of heaven and earth
how can I keep from singing?"

My group which has grown from a tiny seed to something very special is bringing people together to share their Liver
experiences, and to form a supportive group with such common ground.
"Build it and they will Come"  how true those words.
I have been actively encouraged and am richly blessed to have the support of a relatively new transplant recipient in
Joseph LaPera from Pennsylvania and it is great to work with him.

I am really enjoying my growing knowledge base provided by so many people sharing their experiences.

If you are a liver transplant recipient, are waiting for a transplant or the friend or family member of someone in
those categories - consider joining us.

Today our country will settle back into routine after the Melbourne Cup - won by a French horse (not the favourite)
and Melbourne was blessed with a sunshine day.

Dunaden winning the 2011 Melbourne Cup.

I guess there are lots of people with sore heads from celebrating a win - the race brings an atmosphere with many workplace functions and lunches being held everywhere.

The next big event in Adelaide will be the arrival of Father Christmas in our Christmas Pageant on November 12th. - 10 more sleeps until Santa arrives.

Our Christmas Pageant is a wonderful Parade through our Central Business District culminating with the arrival of Santa Claus and the Queen of the Pageant.

There is lots of information at this site - I hope you enjoy a visit there and it is a very long time since I sat on the footpath and waited for hours for the Parade to start - I don't have little ones to take along, but will be sure to watch the event on television.  Growing old is mandatory but growing up is optional and I am a big kid at heart.

I hope your day/evening is wonderful and that you are able to find joy in the little things and that you are able to sing .
Thanks for visiting the Musings of My Heart.

Love and hugs,
Linda.

WET WET WET WEDNESDAY - SINGING IN THE RAIN

Gene Kelly - Singing in the Rain

Good morning and it won't take much for you to guess that it is a rainy day again - yep it is raining and guess who did their washing and now struggles to get it all dry.  Yes - me - but it is part of winter and I love it.

It is a walking in the rain type of day - grey sky and a constant, steady rain just falling down - no wind, so walking with an umbrella will be lovely.

Today I reach the miraculous, marvelous milestone of 84 weeks and I am constantly and totally in awe of the skills and technology that have given me this gift of life.

Flinders doctors, surgeons, nurses - I salute you - you have all had part in bringing me to where I am today.

It is just another ordinary day - and my how I love ordinary days. Some cooking planned for later in the day - roast lamb for dinner tonight and a bowl of homemade soup for lunch.  Lovely winter comfort foods.

I hope that wherever you are you have foods you like and enjoy - if it is hot where you are I wish for you cold and crisp salads and icy cold drinks, but for us "Down Under" I hope there is a nice casserole, a curry, soup and of course a lovely hot chocolate to drink.

I have another beading class coming up and have been shown some on line sites by a friend (Thank you Narelle) and they are like Aladdin's Cave - so much that can be ordered right here from my own desk.  I love on line shopping - it was great for me when I was so ill - I would order gifts and they would be wrapped and delivered and all I had to do was pay the bill when it came in.

Some good news for my friend Ilona who has had some heart tests done and has been advised that it is nothing serious and how to deal with it. A much relieved friend there.

I have a friend arriving (heard the gate go) and we will do some crossword puzzles and discuss and debate world issues and this dear sweet friend will tease and irritate me - but can't help loving him.  He is kind and generous and very good to me.

Crosby is back in hospital for an overnight stay and liver biopsy because his blood numbers are up again - holding him close and praying for a good result.

Until next time - I hope that you have a smile for your umbrella on a rainy rainy day or if the sun is shining for you - please enjoy it .

Thanks for visiting the "Musings from My Heart" and I wish you love and laughter.

Love and hugs,
Linda.

SATURDAY, SUNSHINE, SINGING AND SOUP

Beef and Barley soup.
Brooke Fraser - Something in the Water.

Good Morning and welcome to a cheerful Saturday morning - the sun is shining in my little corner of the world and I have a whole day in front of me to do what I want - I have already done laundry and have a bit pot of beef and barley soup on cooking.  And I have a song stuck in my head - you know when you hear it and it stays with you all day an "ear worm" is what they call it - and today I have Brooke Fraser's "Something in the Water" stuck in my head.   I love it and I love the words - such as

"I wear a demeanour made of bright pretty things...
Birds singing on my shoulder ...."
Halos made of summer and rhythms made of spring...

I wear a demeanor made of bright pretty things
What she wears, what she wears, what she wears
Birds singing on my shoulder in harmony it seems
How they sing, how they sing, how they sing

Give me nights of solitude, red wine just a glass or two,
Reclined in a hammock on a balmy evening
I'll pretend that its no thing that’s skipping my heart when I think of you
thinking of me babe I'm crazy over you

There's something in the water, something in the water
There’s something in the water, that makes me love you like –
I’ve got halo’s made of summer, rhythms made of spring
What she wears, what she wears, what she wears
I got crowns of words a woven each one a song to sing
Oh I sing, oh I sing, oh I sing

Give me long days in the sun,
preludes to the nights to come
Previews of the mornings laying in all lazy
give me something fun to do like a life of loving you
kiss me quick now baby I'm still crazy over you

There's something in the water, something in the water
There's something in the water that makes me love you like I do
Give me nights of solitude, red wine just a glass or two, give me something fun to do

It is a very catchy tune and I have it for today.

Yesterday was "Red Nose" day - a fund raising event for awareness of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and although I didn't see many red noses when I was out and about I am sharing my Red Nose Me image:

I think it is a wonderful way to bring awareness and also it is a fun thing to do and lots of people used to get involved - I am hoping that I am just out of the loop and that support for this wonderful cause is not waning.

It is an absolutely glorious winter day - the sun is shining and the sky is blue - cold it may be but the sunshine cheers people up and has me singing..........Do do do do do d  Ahhhhh Ahhhhh Ahhhhhh

I hope that life is cheerful for you and that you have plans to make some memories this weekend.  I have so many things I have thought about doing and I shan't be surprised if very few of them get done, but I will be spending some time in the sun with coffee and a crossword puzzle to start with.  My laundry is drying in the sunshine and there is peace in my heart - I share the concerns of friends about their loved ones and will continue to hold them close, but I think today is going to be a rest, restore, revive and a nurture me day. Indulgent I know - but necessary I feel.  Physically it will do me good to rest, but I am going to try to rest my mind too - it generally operates at about 100 miles per hour and with some music and sunshine I should be able to get the speed down.

Enjoy the silliness of the red nose photo - and I hope you can find some silliness and smiles in your day.  Laughter is so healing - find something nice to do that will make you smile or laugh and enjoy it all.  Dance on the wind and live life to the full.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for popping by to read "The Musings from My Heart" - a cheerful singing heart this morning.

Love and hugs,

WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY 74 WEEKS AND REALITY CHECK FOR ME.

Enya - How can I keep from Singing

"My life goes on in endless song
above earth's lamentations,
I hear the real, though far-off hymn
that hails a new creation.

Through all the tumult and the strife
I hear it's music ringing,
It sounds an echo in my soul.
How can I keep from singing?

Oh though the tempest loudly roars,
I hear the truth, it liveth.
Oh though the darkness 'round me close,
Songs in the night it giveth.

No storm can shake my inmost calm,
While to that rock I'm clinging.
Since love is lord of heaven and earth
How can I keep from singing?

When tyrants tremble in their fear
And hear their death knell ringing,
When friends rejoice both far and near
How can I keep from singing?

No storm can shake my inmost calm,
While to that rock I'm clinging.
Since love is lord of heaven and earth
How can I keep from singing?

My life goes on in endless song
Above earth's lamentations,
I hear the real, though far-off hymn
How can I keep from singing?"

Baby it's cold outside.

Wednesday and 74 weeks for me - it is officially winter in this little corner of the world and suitably cold, but we are to be blessed today with sunshine - great day for laundry.

My eye appointment went very well and no changes to lenses, but a new frame coming up - I love new glasses !! and it was a reality check for me yesterday to get a good report and to read the comments on this blog.

Thank you Barbara for pointing out that everyone of us walk a fine line and don't know what the future holds and it was just what I needed to hear - the facts and so "pity party" is over.  My own words had been clear enough about not being promised tomorrow but I needed to hear them from someone else.

Everyone of your comments on my blog is valued and read over and over - they do keep me grounded and on track and I cherish you all for that.   Please if you have never left a comment it would be nice to hear from you wherever you are in our lovely world.

Let me know how things are in your little corner of the world and share the joys and sadnesses that make up your life.   Lynne - coffee and flowers sounds wonderful and I am glad you were inside when the lightening struck.

The technology which keeps me up to date with issues emanating out of USA with friends, and keeps me in touch with so many of you is amazing, and my gratitude comes from a thankful heart.

Enjoy every moment of every day - find some things to be thankful for - I can

  1. A warm and comfortable bed
  2. Medical staff who care for me
  3. Friends who care enough to help me back on track
  4. Our beautiful world
  5. Music in all it's forms

So with a song in my heart and so much good stuff going on in my life, thank you for visiting "The Musings from my Heart", for keeping me on track, caring about me - with all of this

"How Can I Keep from Singing?"

Love and hugs,
