SATURDAY SUNSHINE ON SAINT PATRICK'S DAY

Welcome to Saturday and it is the day for the wearing of the green ~ Saint Patrick's day and I wish all who are Irish, or who claim some Irish heritage  (and those who just think it's a great excuse to party and celebrate) a very happy day of celebration.   If it is green beer you are drinking or you are eating Colcannon sure By gosh and Begorrah have a wonderful Saturday.

So much is going on in my life ~ and the lives of those I hold dear to me that the days are just going by in a blur.   Happy, healthy days filled with love and care and generosity of spirit.
The weather has cleared up and we have sunshine again and open clear velvet nights with diamonds gleaming for all the world to see.   I have been "sky watching " a bit lately and viewing the moon and the stars and realizing that my northern hemisphere friends view the same sky as I do and that does temper the distance somewhat.

I have had lovely mail in my Post Office box this week ~ sent with love and care and very much thought and it has brought me to tears of joy to read the lovely handwriting and words penned with love.  I am very blessed indeed.

Once again it is time for me to get back on the Merry Go Round of appointments and I have been busy scheduling appointments with Eye Specialist, Podiatrist, Dentist, Doctor, Dietitian and Dermatologist.  It is interesting to note how quickly the year has gone but it must have done as reminders are coming through for all of these things.    I am blessed to live within close proximity to most and to be well enough to cope with any distance involved.  This is all part of life post transplant for me ~these are annual events which is a very good reminder that I am into my third year of "life with Oliver" ~ having written that and come back to re-read I am amazed that I am talking in terms of "years"  ~ my scar is fading and most importantly I am alive and well and thankful.

I have been shopping today and spent a fortune at the Pharmacy and enjoyed a lovely sojourn with a beautiful young woman and we shared so much of how life has been for both of us  ~ one of those friends that you meet for just a few moments of your day.   One of those times I shall remember clearly ~ we talked for a little while about health, life and attitude to life and although her path has been rough she was able to be positive enough to want to live, to laugh and to love.  We parted with her saying for me to be safe and I left her with the worlds I hope for you there is joy in your journey.   She smiled and waved and drove off ~ I hope that there is joy for her.

At times I feel as though I am on a mission to bring some calm, peace and joy to lives that are hurting ~ and I know that today some one's step was a little lighter because our paths crossed.  Today my words helped her and I am sure that now her candle is lit she will be lighting other candles.

Celebration time for the Golden Girls with a March birthday for Karen ~ so dinner out and lots of giggles for us tonight and it will be lovely.   Karen is our Golfer, so it won't be a late night because she is probably teeing off at seven in the morning.   I am to be chauffeur driven ~ "Thanks Di." ~ it will be great.

Sickness and pain is troubling many friends all over the world and I am holding them close and encouraging them as I can ~ there is much sadness, but it gets to a stage where some one's time has come and we need to let them go and get on with the next stage of their journey.  So much of our grief is for ourselves.

"Courage friends ~
You do not walk alone
We shall walk with you
And sing your spirit home"

Off now to get on with the next part of my day which will be putting the shopping away ~ I have been all over the place and doing lots of little things and not achieving very much , but once this blog is posted I shall be feeling very much happier.

Our River Boat cruise is next Friday and the weather forecast is for a cool day with the chance of showers ~ perfect when compared with how hot is could have been.

Thank you for calling by and visiting the Musings of My Heart ~ a heart filled with compassion and care and yet one that sings for the joy of many things.

Love and hugs,
Linda.

WEDNESDAY @ 86 WEEKS AND WINTER WARMTH

Sunny Afternoon - The Kinks

Welcome to Wednesday - a truly beautiful day here in Adelaide, the sun is shining, birds are singing and bees are buzzing.  My cat is stretched full length in the garden in the afternoon sun.  Certainly lazing on a sunny afternoon.

It is 86 weeks today for me since transplant and I am delighted that I am alive and well and able to enjoy this sunny afternoon.

I have done some more tidying up and sorting through things and have dinner on cooking - washing on the line now ready to be brought in and smelling of sunshine.  All of these very ordinary things and for ordinary things I am thankful.   There were days when getting up and showering was about all I could count on doing but now I manage so much more and am able to enjoy things.

Life is good and sweet and friends are kind and true and I am able to share the achievements and milestones of other transplant friends.   Those, like Kortni who have gone home from hospital and others like Phillip and Cassie who are able to go back to their own town after being limited to being close to the hospital.

I hope there are joys in your life and times that you are able to enjoy sharing with others.  It's the little things that count - a smile, a kind word, a compliment or something a little one has said which brings a smile.

Leanne has 11 weeks to go to the birth of her second child and baby had hiccups and when she told big sister Georgia the reaction was "don't worry baby I will make you a cup of tea"  not bad for someone under three.  It made me smile - very cute.

I have noticed just recently that the days are getting longer - it is lighter earlier and stays lighter longer - a sure sign that spring is on the way followed by summer I would be happy to go from spring to autumn and miss summer altogether, but that isn't going to happen so I just make do and try to like to hot weather.   I have been trying for a while and not achieving.

There are daffodils out in my garden and tomorrow I shall pick them and have them on my desk for Daffodil Day this coming Friday.

Open up your heart and share some daffodil sunshine with friends - they are my favourite flowers and I hope this years promotion works well for the Cancel Council of Australia.

I shall wear a daffodil, use my clips and pen and have daffodils on my desk.   I remember so many who have fought the battle and lost and also give thanks for those who continue to fight and seem to be winning.

I hope there is sunshine in your little corner of the world and that there is peace in your heart.

Thank you for visiting and reading "the Musings from my Heart"  May there be sunshine and flowers, peace and calm and a smile on your lips.

Love and hugs,
Linda.

SUNDAY MORNING SUNSHINE - COME AWAY WITH ME

Norah Jones - Come Away with Me.

The sun is shining, the sky is blue and there is a gentle breeze blowing - a perfect Sunday morning - all is quiet and calm in my little corner of the world.   The birds are singing and I can hear my cat purring as she dozes in the sun through the window.

All in all it is a perfect morning - come away with me and find that perfect spot where you can relax and enjoy your day.

My weekend has been a good one so far - I have pictures to share from my class yesterday.  It was a good class, nice people, beautiful teacher, lovely background music and my heart and hands were open to learning and creativity.

My first completed beading project

A very simple but very sweet bracelet

We have another class booked for late September and hopefully I shall have purchased more bits and pieces and be creating in my own right then - it is a long time since I have used my creativity and I found it healing and gentle.

Use your creativity - whatever it is to bring calm to your life and heart - maybe it's writing, painting, knitting, scrap booking, restoring  furniture and giving it new life.   Cooking can be creative too - those beautiful cake designs are a work of art.

There is so much to do and choose from - and I am hoping that beading will be something special I can do and enjoy.

Come away with me and find that calm and peaceful place in your life where your heart can sing, you can relax, be creative - just be yourself.

It was a busy day yesterday and then I had dinner with friends and by the time I came home I was a very tired girl.  Straight to bed and straight to sleep - a much more sleep filled night and I have woken today refreshed, but away that I need to be gentle with myself and this I can do and will do.

I have coffee, music and time with you - what more can I ask for?
My laundry is drying in the sun and breeze and I am reminded of these words: "It is well with my soul."

There are frustrations in my life - I was frustrated by having to come home early when I was having a lovely time with friends, but I have to learn to live within the limitations and yesterday was a very big day and looking back - it was a good day.  It was calm and quiet - even the drive through the city was relatively calm (apart from the mandatory road works wherever you go).

I hope your weekend is a good one and I thank you for visiting the Musings from my Heart and invite you to "Come Away with Me" and find that peaceful quite spot to refresh and restore.

Love and hugs,
Linda.
