THANKFUL THURSDAY - KINDS OF PEOPLE

Good Morning and welcome to Thankful Thursday in my little corner of the world where the sun is shining and a chilly wind is blowing - Mother Nature at her finest wearing her spring dress and showing her fickle mood.
The sky is blue with lots of big white fluffy clouds but at least the day is dry after all the rain we have had.

On Thankful Thursday I am thankful for so very many things - I am thankful for all kinds of people I encounter in my life - those who love me unconditionally even when I am unlovable because that's when I need them most.   Those who physically do things for me and check in on me. those who listen to my  political rants and those who encourage me and understand my passion for many things.

Yes, there are two kinds of people  - YOU and everyone else - and I am happy to be part of a world which, although in turmoil and anger, is still a very beautiful place.

As you walk the path of your journey today - find joy in the little things, see beauty all around you - in the bird's song, the new leaves on a plant, rays of sunlight peeping through trees, the waves on the shore, the reeds by the river and oh so many more things.    Find joy in the people around you - share your smile or your concern for people, open a door for someone, lift a parcel, stand aside and let someone pass - all little things, but so so important and ones that will make someones day easier.

Make a phone call, send an email, call in for a visit and coffee with someone, visit a friend in hospital - all things which can bring much joy to those who are perhaps feeling isolated.

The joy really is in the journey and I wish you a lovely days travelling and sweet and beautiful encounters on your way.   Be present to each moment and enjoy the little things.

Thank you for visiting the Musings of My Heart and taking part of my journey with me - it is a lovely journey with friends along the way.

Love and hugs,

WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY

Good Afternoon on Wonderful Wednesday and it is warm and pleasant although the sky is grey and heavy with thunder storms in the forecast time frame.

Spring is here and Mother Nature is indeed being fickle and we are promised a cold day tomorrow - but that's fine - all is well and I have both a garden and as library and while it is not everything I need it comes close.   My garden can bring me visual beauty and fruit and vegetables and a Library can take me anywhere I need to go and show me the sights of this beautiful world.

I am blessed indeed and the weeks are just flying by and soon it will be Christmas 16 weeks away and my thoughts are turning to things Christmas and it is a time I relish.

I hope that your Wonderful Wednesday is just that - a wonderful day - filled with all sorts of lovely things and times however you spend the day. Find joy in the little things and remember to be present to each and every moment of each and every lovely day.

To those travelling have a wonderful time and to those still working - keep on plodding on - your holidays will come very soon.

Thank you for visiting the Musings of my Heart - a thankful heart for warmer days and for health and happiness.

Love and hugs,

CARPE DIEM

Good Morning and welcome to Thankful Thursday in my little corner of the world where the sun has risen and Mother Nature has lifted the velvet blanket of night.  I sat outside and watched the break of day and listened to the world waking to face another beautiful day in our beautiful world.

I took an early morning coffee outside and although this is summer it was quite cool out there and I felt for the first time the changing of the seasons and a suspicion that summer's days are numbered.   It will be hot again before autumn settles in but it was delightful to feel the chill in the air and to feel the dew on the grass.

My friend has chosen for his word/phrase of the year "Carpe Diem" "Seize the Day" and this image about seizing the moment seemed appropriate to post today.  There is joy in the journey and it is special to be able to grasp with both hands every opportunity every day to LIVE every day.

Be present to each moment of each day - make sure you listen to the little things your children say - if you listen to the little things, there is a much better chance that they will share the important things in their lives with you.

Listening is so important and so too is hearing what is being said, and often what is not being said.  Not only with children, but aging family members need us to be present to the moment and so often we can become caught up in being busy and the business of being busy, that we sometimes forget to stop and listen.

It was an early start to my day because sleep was not my companion but I am glad that I was awake to enjoy the velvet morning.  It was a lovely calm start to my day, a day that lies in front of me without any specific plans.

I love these ordinary days - a blank canvas on which to splash much paint as I can - I love ordinary days and am thankful for them.
During days of crisis and illness I ached for them, pleaded for them, cried for them and prayed for them and now welcome them with open arms and enjoy them to the full.

I will find lots of things to fill my hours, listen to some music, read a little while, visit the Post Office and generally just enjoy the time - no doubt I will talk to family and friends on the phone and may do some letter writing.

How will you spend your day ?  Will you "Seize the Day" ?  Will you find joy in the little things (and there are so many of them) ~ a cool iced drink, a cozy fire, a good book, a good movie, time with your parents, your siblings, your friends and time alone.

Time alone is totally different from being lonely - time alone gives space to nurture your inner being, drink deeply of your thoughts and ideas, rekindle your passion for life, plan for spring or winter.

Seize your day and enjoy every moment - the present moment is all we have.
Have a wonderful day - be a little kinder, a little more loving and caring - everyone you meet is carrying some sort of burden.

Thank you for visiting the Musings of My Heart - a grateful heart and a heart filled with warmth and love and gratitude for this lovely day.

Love and hugs,

LIFE IS A DANCE

Good afternoon and welcome to Thankful Thursday in my little corner of the world - where although the wind has been bitingly cold, the sun has shone and given us a reminder that spring is coming followed by summer.

We only have today - and whilst it is good the anticipate the future and look forward to don't waste a moment of today - be present to each and every moment.

I have had a day of lovely and very ordinary things.   Shopping early, the purchase of a newly released book (which I can't wait to get started on) and a quick visit to a shut in friend with a book and chocolate.

The shops were not busy (I was early ) and the roads were quiet too so all in all it made for a lovely day.   I am so pleased to be able to do these normal ordinary things again and will enjoy doing crosswords with a friend in a little while.

Staying warm has been difficult because there is still the chill of winter in the winds but my laundry has flapped in the wind and looked lovely.

We are due for a pleasant weekend weather wise and I have no idea what is on my agenda - but I do have my new book and if I can find a spot in the sun and out of the wind that will be a nice way to while away some hours.

The lake was lovely this morning with choppy waves and white caps - but still brave souls ventured out in their sailing craft.

I am expecting mail from overseas and although some did arrive today, there is more to come and it is very exciting - the anticipation is wonderful.  I have cards galore and I am blessed indeed.

On this Thankful Thursday I am thankful for so very much - for love and laughter, music and magic, flowers and friends, books and boxes, coffee and chocolate, letters and love.

My daffodils are still dancing and those on my desk are still standing tall and bringing me immense joy.

I am happy and healthy and quote a friend ...............

"how lucky we have been  - a journey through some bumps, but overall a fair and steady star has guided us thus far."   How true these words are and here's to many more star guided days.

Take care as you journey and be present to each moment of today and every day - don't miss a moment - enjoy it all.

Thank you for visiting the musings of this heart that knows love and friendship and is eternally grateful.

Love and hugs,
Linda.

WELCOME TO WEDNESDAY - AIN'T IT FUNNY HOW TIME SLIPS AWAY

Willie Nelson - Ain't it Funny How Time Slips Away

Good Morning and welcome to Wonderful Wednesday and today I reach 82 weeks post transplant - alive and living well and loving it all.

This is a piece of music I heard during the night when I was snug and warm in my bed and doing the wander through my mind and it became clear to me that time really does go quickly - suddenly the days have turned to weeks, the weeks to months and here I am walking the walk and talking the talk at 574 days post transplant.

Today is cold but the sky is blue and we are promised a temperature of 20 degrees (almost a heatwave for this time of year) and I hope to be able to enjoy the warmth of the sun for a while today.

Firstly I am off shopping and then home to prepare dinner - such ordinary things to do - the daily routine, mundane things that were denied to me for so long when I was ill and I rejoice to be able to back the car out and go and do these things.

It is funny how time slips away which just reinforces with me how important it is to live each day to the fullest and be present in each moment of each day.

We should be sure to say the things we want to say to those we love, do the things we can and want to do and to enjoy every moment of every day.  Don't sweat the small stuff - and mostly it is all small stuff.  I am learning to live in the moment, not to be ruffled  by the things that would normally have bothered me.   I try to do what I can and then let things go and not be stressed.

I am refusing to run or play with the 'WOULDA, COULDA, SHOULDA' Sisters - I do what I can but don't beat myself up when I fail.

"The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, not to worry about the future, or not to anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly."

Buddha

May you find times where you can be present to the moment and share the joy in your heart.

I wish safety for you and a warm and cozy bed when night time comes for you and may you have a sweet and peaceful sleep.

Off now to do my shopping with a smile on my lips, a song in my heart and a spring in my step.  Life is good and I am thankful.

Take care and thanks for visiting.

Love and hugs,

ANOTHER RUBY TUESDAY - HIP HIP HOORAY.

The Rainbow Connection - Kermit The Frog

Good Morning and welcome to my wintry world - a very stormy and rough night has given way to a much calmer morning and there was a rainbow in my sky this morning and it was very beautiful.  Got me thinking (dangerous I know) but I got to thinking about colours again and I am wearing red because it gives me a feeling of warmth.

I hope there is a rainbow in your sky and in your heart today - and that you are at peace with yourself.  Take some deep breaths and be present in the moment.

Really listen to what your children are saying - they will  be grown too quickly and it is important that you live life to the full each day.  Be a good listener to a friend who needs to talk - just by being there and hearing what they are saying brings comfort to them.

Lots going on in my circle of friends at the moment and unsettling times for some - house hunting within the price range, sorting out home issues, coping with broken bones and pulled muscles.  Caring for sick children, struggling to still maintain a work schedule and finding care for those sick ones while you work.  They are all issues that bring us down in spirit and of course there are those who grieve.  Grief takes as long as it takes - it has no schedule or routine and is different for everyone.  To some it is very fresh and others have had some time to realize that their loved one is gone, but the pain is no less significant.

On Friday of this week at midday little Lilah Bishop will be farewelled and all over the world people are lighting candles at that time and holding vigils for her.   Fly free little one - your work was done.  Your parents encouraged everyone to "live life for Lilah"  and to be present to each moment.

Light a Candle for Lilah and learn so much from her short life.

Life is filled with bitter/sweet moments and they can be very challenging to us and I wish you strength for your journey and friends to care for you.

I have sunshine coming in through my window and my world is much calmer and for that I am thankful. There was lots of rain and damaging winds.

I understand some parts of USA experienced rain too - a summer storm for them and I hope all is well with those who live there (Diane in Chicago told me about this) and it seems our weather patterns are a little off key these days.  Our Airport is closed due to volcanic cloud from the eruption in Chile.  Second time in a week - seems the cloud is on it's second spin around the world.  Chaos at Airports all over Australia and New Zealand.  How much we depend on flights and technology.

Bananas in Pyjamas - B1 and B2

These two life size characters were stolen over the weekend from our ABC Radio  Building - they usually reside in the Foyer and were abducted on Sunday morning and last seen being carried down a main road.
Nothing else was taken from the building - seems a little strange to me.  I hope they are soon returned to their home at the ABC.

This is the theme song of the Television Characters.

Wishing you a productive Tuesday with peace and calm for your companions, stay safe warm/cool and remember to be present to the moment.

Love and hugs and thanks for visiting.
Linda.
