Welcome to Sunday Morning in my little corner of the world and welcome to the Symphony I am hearing of the birds welcoming the day. They are very vocal this morning - in fact quite noisy.
Welcome to a new day, a new promise and a new chance to get something right. Our world is in turmoil but I am always encouraged by the lovely quote from Mahatma Ghandi :
"Be the change you want to see in the world."
I take the meaning of that to be that if I would like the world to be a little kinder, then I must be a little kinder, if I would like the world to be a little politer then I must be a little politer. If I would like the world to have a much better attitude then my attitude must be a positive one and filled with hope.
I try each new day to find joy in things and this morning my affirmation of gratitude is:
"I am grateful for the changing of the seasons as this keeps me grounded."
I love it when i first notice the changing of the seasons - that first leaf that falls, that first breeze that feels a little chillier than before, the shortening of the daylight hours, the later sunrise and the earlier sunset. The leaves floating down the river and the stronger ripples on the water. They are the changes I am noticing in my world. For many of you the days will be longer, new flowers will be blooming and the sun a little warmer as you approach your spring and summer days.
Watch the changes as they progress and learn from nature to take things slowly and calmly as the seasons change and know that these things are important in the big scheme of things.
There really isn't a lot happening in my world at the moment, but that's fine too as it gives me time to rest, restore and recover. Yesterday my neighbour's son lopped a tree which hung over my garden and this morning I notice how much lighter that area is. It was getting big and dangerous and was likely to fall onto the fence or cables during winter storms - so preparations are made now. The fence was ever so slightly damaged during the process but the boys fixed that straight away and all is well.
I am grateful for good neighbours. I have a new family moving in right now on the other side and I have not met them but am hoping that we can get along nicely. The people who live close by can certainly have an affect on our lives and I am very lucky indeed to have such nice people next door and across the road. It will be lovely if the new folk next door can fit in well too.
Our football season has started again and that will be the focus of conversation for many people I know - I don't like the game but try to keep an interest and know what's going on so that I can at least be part of conversations and discussions and encourage those I love who take a very big interest in it.
You will notice on the side bar of this blog a St. Kilda Football Club logo - that's the team I ostensibly follow, and I do that because that was the team my donor followed and I do so as a tribute to him. Maybe it's silly - but it's important to me. The team lost him as a supporter but they gained me when he gave me the gift of life. I even have a "Saints" coffee mug and can be heard singing loudly their theme song, when they win "When the Saint's go Marching In."
Louis Armstrong was one of my Father's favourite singers and I hope you enjoy listening to this piece. Just got to love that beautiful smile.
My "attitude of gratitude" brings many memories to my mind and I often take a long walk down memory lane and travel back to my childhood days and earlier life and recall things special to me. It is healing and comforting to have these memories to revisit.
This weekend - take some time to make some memories - things that you will be able to recall in future days. Suzanne I know your heart will rejoice when Sunday 27th. gets there for you when your darling daughter Ashley and "Grandma's Boy" Avery will arrive home from Japan. Rejoice and be grateful for their safe return - I do.
Take some time to play a game with your children, read a book with them or even cook something with them, take a walk, listen to some music - whatever your heart needs and desires.
We have within us the skill to create a pleasant place to spend time and revisit often - I hope your pleasant place is warm and welcoming to you today.
My lawns are being cut today and I shall relish the smell of newly mown grass and be grateful for the rain which means that the grass is growing instead of dying from the drought and is green instead of brown.
Thoughts of nature, thoughts of family, thoughts of memories and thoughts of you bring me to the end of this epistle and I send love and hugs and thank you for visiting and reading "The Musings from my Heart".

Thank you again for a perfect way to start a Sunday, relaxed, reflecting and appreciative.
It is uncanny but I was just outside admiring the raindrops glittering like tinsel on the grass that needs to be mowed, But not now, too pretty, let it have it's moment, the mowing will wait.
I love the seasons of change and cherish their individual changes that take place before my eyes and in my heart,
