Welcome to Sunday morning and the sounds of silence - well silence apart from the steady heavy rain that is falling. It is all looking rather strange and beautiful out there - the sun is shining and the sky blue with a patch of peach coloured clouds and yet the rain in falling. Truly lovely.
I love the quiet and solitude of Sunday mornings - a time where the neighbourhood is quieter, the roads less busy and I specifically don't turn on the radio so that I can relish the silence. This morning the only noises are the rain and the clicking of this keyboard. Now there is a noise in the distance of a plane taking off from our Airport. People travelling for so many reasons - going home, to surprise someone, holidays and some for sad reasons.
My gratitude for this morning is:
"I am grateful for the sounds of silence and the peace it brings."
Sunday mornings used to hold something special for me - a phone call from a friend interstate, but Neville died last May and I miss him and those calls so very much. He is on my mind this weekend because yesterday would have been his birthday. He is often in my thoughts, but yesterday more so.
It is amazing how the things that happen to us and the people we meet and love leave their very great impression on us. They leave footprints on our hearts, and I am sure you all have memories you would regard as footprints on your heart.
The memories of times spent, places visited, the funny cute little things that our children said, books we have read and the emotion we feel when we view something beautiful, hear sweet and special music.
Life can be difficult and our journey rough, but I know that there are many people who have left footprints on my heart because of the care they showed me. Friends who visited, trimmed my finger nails, brought me flowers, laughed with me and shared my fears. I am perfectly sure that there are lots of footprints on my heart left by friends and family.
Enjoy our Sunday - however you spend it - listen to some music, spend time with your loved ones, watch a movie - make some memories and put some footprints on your heart. It may be by reading an email sent your way by a friend just to say they care.
This Sunday for me holds a family celebration of Naomi's birthday and I will have my family together - quite an achievement in their busy days.
Naomi's birthday was in March but life got in the way - so today's the day and this is the cake I have put together for us to all enjoy.
We are barbequing and the weather is not particularly good but we have shelter and it won't matter a bit - being together will be enough.
I wish you love and laughter, sunshine and flowers, stardust and moonlight on your Sunday and always - enjoy making footprints on your heart and thank you for visiting to read "The Musings from my Heart."
Love and hugs,

Have a Footprint Day and sit back and enjoy the sounds, silent they may not be, but treasures they will be
