TELL ME ON A SUNDAY - Music and Magic

Welcome to my world on this beautiful Sunday morning - I am full of the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber and share several music clips with you today.

"Tell me on a Sunday"

I had a wonderful afternoon - lovely lunch at the Strathmore Hotel and a tram ride to the Entertainment Centre and heard lots of the music of this very talented man - most of it I knew, some not so well and "Tell me on a Sunday" is a piece I really enjoyed and as it is Sunday it is appropriate I use that an an introduction to my words today.

The music was from many shows - Phantom of the Opera, Evita, Starlight Express, Cats and it was a pure delight to hear the cast of eight very talented people bring this music to life.

Phantom of the Opera

Evita - Don't cry for me Argentina

Cats - Midnight

The Show was very loud, very fast and very beautiful - I loved every minute of it and felt quite sad when it ended - only to be very happy with the encore provided - several tunes from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat - beautiful indeed.

Any Dream will do.

Lunch was lovely in a garden section of the Hotel and nice pizza, then a short walk to the tram and after the show we came back into the City by tram and I took a walk though to Currie Street and caught the bus home.  I had to wait for a little while and sitting in the late afternoon sun I chatted with a delightful young man who became a friend for just those few moments of my day.  We talked about the weather, daylight saving and the changes in our world.  I am very happy to leave the world in the hands of these young people.

Walked home from the bus, kicked off my shoes, exhausted but happy.  Just a light snack and a drink and off to bed for me.

My favourite television show 'SPOOKS' returned last night with the first episode of a new series and I managed to stay awake in bed to watch it.  It is British Television at it's very best.  I love it. Harry and Ruth struggling with all that being part of MI5/6 involves.

So all in all yesterday was a very busy but great day for me

Daylight saving has ended for us and I know I am not alone when I say that the first few days after the time change throws me out of sync but it heralds the start of much shorter days and the advent of winter.

I love the winter and all the special warm things, hot chocolate, steamy casseroles, those lovely cooking smells, walking in the rain, lying snug and warm in a comfortable bed listening to the wind.  Cosy gloves and hat for winter walks.   Strolls by the river with empty trees and rippled water.  There is so much I love about it all.

My gratitude for today is :

"I am grateful for Sunday morning and the peace that it brings."

I can find joy in the quiet, the singing birds, the sunshine and the thought of a whole day in front of me to rest and restore from the excitement of yesterday.

I have nice coffee and am listening to the music clips I have included with this post and think life couldn't get any better than this.  Each day I feel such gratitude for all that my life has become - the very fact that I have life and believe me I cherish it.

I value your friendships and the fact that you appreciate my words and my blog and take the time to write and tell me.

I value good conversation with a friend and the sharing of a burden too hard for her to carry alone and I cherish the trust placed in me.

I hope your weekend is shaping up to be a happy one too and that you are able to find things that feed and nourish your soul in the company of friends/family - I know I did - Thank you Diane for a lovely afternoon.

I am off now to enjoy this Sunday and see what I can paint on the canvas stretched out in front of me this glorious autumn Sunday in the City I love.

Love and hugs and thank you for taking the time to visit and read "The Musings from My Heart" which is very full this morning.

Music playing as I type, Moonlight at the moment. Beautiful selection of a lovely lot of songs from very memorable musicals.
A chat with a stranger, who enriches your life is such a joy. I do love talking to those people I haven't met yet. An amazing young man was on a bus and we discussed "Shawshank Redemption" at great length. Outward appearance was no indication of the depth of that young man that I remember still.
May I always take the time to smell the flowers and smile at a stranger.
