Good Morning and welcome to Friday - end of the working week and in my fair city the sun in shining and we are having a heat wave (well at least it's warmer than it has been for a few days.) 25 degrees forecast for today (77 degrees Fahrenheit) so although we are in late Autumn we are having warmth in our days. Sky is blue and the air is sweet - this must indeed be MY Sesame Street.
Sunny Day
Sweepin' the clouds away
On my way to where the air is sweet
Can you tell me how to get,
How to get to Sesame Street
Come and play
Everything's A-OK
Friendly neighbors there
That's where we meet
Can you tell me how to get
How to get to Sesame Street
It's a magic carpet ride
Every door will open wide
To Happy people like you--
Happy people like
What a beautiful
Sunny Day
Sweepin' the clouds away
On my way to where the air is sweet
Sweepin' the clouds away

Can you tell me how to get,
How to get to Sesame Street
Come and play

I have great respect for the Children's Television Program 'SESAME STREET' and I know there is a waiting list of people wanting to work there - apparently once you go to work there - you stay. So many well known people have appeared on The Street and there are wonderful morals in the stories they tell. They handle life issues in such a sensible and real way - disputes, sharing, caring, understanding different cultures and topics which have been taboo such as death.
When the man who played the character Mr. Hooper died the whole Street learned about death in simple terms - I was impressed.
I guess you can tell that I have watched lots of episodes of this program - well yes I have and love it. Favourite Character ? - that's hard but I do like Oscar the Grouch and Grover (my younger daughter used to say that her name was Grover and Rebecca wanted "wobbly socks" like Big Bird.)
It is educational and enlightening, humorous and delightful. We all need a "Sesame Street" - somewhere we feel safe, can laugh and have fun, where someone understands us and will help us.
I hope that your week has been a good one and that you are ready to face the weekend with a smile. I know that some of you have had a rough week - rougher than you have ever known and that things have happened that have changed your life forever and I hope that you can find in your heart and mind your own "Sesame Street" - that safe place. It doesn't have to be a place filled with funny, furry and colourful characters - your "Sesame Street" just needs to be where you can find peace, calm and feel safe again. Where the sun will shine for you and people will be kind.
Set about making your own "Sesame Street" - fill it with joy, memories, love, laughter and all the things that you need to make you whole - flowers, creatures, sunshine, starlight, moonlight - a beautiful place in your heart to which you can retreat, recover and restore.
However you spend your weekend - be sure to be making the memories that will serve you well in the future. Be a little kinder because you never know what burden someone is carrying and a smile may well life their load.
Thank you for visiting "The Musings from My Heart" and I believe my blog is becoming my own "Sesame Street" with sunny days chasing the clouds away and where the air is sweet.
Love and hugs,
Linda.
