Good Morning on this lovely Saturday morning from a City which is bathed in dappled sunlight and is deliciously cool. It is quiet and peaceful with a very gentle breeze - a picture perfect day !!
A beautiful day for celebration and I am off to McLaren Vale, south of Adelaide.
A group of friends are gathering to CELEBRATE this lovely lady's 80th. Birthday.

We are off to the Southern Vales Winery Region of South Australia for lunch at Serafino's (formerly McLaren's on the Lake) a beautiful restaurant set in beautiful grounds - rolling lawns, a lake and beautiful gum trees. This if often the setting for weddings and is very beautiful.
Not only are WE going to McLaren Vale but so is the TOUR DOWN UNDER - the cycling event is heading to McLaren Vale too so we will have to take a detour as the roads are being closed from 06.00 this morning. I rang the restaurant yesterday and staff were lovely giving details of the roads we should take and encouraging me to ring them if we get lost and they will talk us through this.
This is where we are heading and these photographs are from a previous visit and I shall try to take some more today to share with you.
It will be nice to be waited on and to taste the epicurean delights of the Southern Vales with lots of local product and several of our Group will enjoy the local wines.
It will be a great day and certainly a lovely time celebrating with a lovely lady.
It is certainly important to mark birthdays and anniversaries with special celebrations, but it is also very important to celebrate each day with it's opportunities and possibilities. I have learned that each day is special and should be celebrated. Wednesdays are special to me - my transplant took place on a Wednesday and marked the beginning of a new life and I always mark Ruby Tuesday (from the song) and of course there is Thankful Thursday.
Every day ending in a "Y" is a very good day.
Take time to embrace (my word for the year) all the lovely times you have with family and friends and to celebrate even the little things in your lives.
