DREAM WITH ME

Good Afternoon from my little corner of the world where the day is sunny and bright with blue sky and no clouds and a very pleasant cool temperature.
A very pretty day indeed.

A much quieter day for me - no children today so the silence is deafening but compensated with lovely music.

Come sit with me and we'll talk about our dreams - we all have dreams, some more than others.   Dreams, hopes, wishes, plans and schemes.

I'll share the things I dream about and hope for and perhaps it will stir your thoughts and you can open your mind and see what your dreams are.

I dream of a world where children can run free and play in meadows with streams and flowers, where they are safe from harm.   Where every adult is a caring soul and looks out for them.

I dream of a world without war where everyone can live peacefully and happily without greed and violence and have enough food and clean water to drink.   Where disease is unknown and children can grown up into peace loving adults.

Greed does not appear in my dreams - I dream of a place where there is sharing and caring and equality and where the colour of our skin matters not and we all live with respect for our religions and cultural issues.

I dream of a place where people will take turns and wait and the "me me me" culture does not exist.  Where babies are cherished and loved and never abused, where there is always an adult to care for them.

Medical care is abundant in my dreams and there is no bickering about financial costs, where it is safe to walk the streets day or night.  A place where one can ask for help without the fear of abuse.

I dream of a world full of pencils and paper and books and wonderful teachers, where everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

I dream of a world where I can have trust in the word of my Government, where all people are equal and where the rich don't get richer and the poor poorer.  A place where justice prevails and everyone is treated fairly.
Where there are jobs for all and appropriate training is provided.

In the world I dream about people use manners and have respect and will always do a kind deed.   Where everyone acknowledges that we all carry a burden of some kind and will offer kindness and as helping hand.

Wouldn't it be a wonderful world ?

I clearly acknowledge that I can't change the world, but what I can do is to make life sweeter, kinder and happier in my little corner of it.   I resolve to do this - to laugh a little more, to be kinder, more loving and giving and I believe if we all do this, the world will be a better place.   Share what you can of yourself, give a smile as you pass someone in the shopping centre - you may well be the only contact they have for that day.  Be generous with your time, stop and talk with someone, offer to fetch something for a neighbour, to check their mail, water their garden - just the simple things in life.

I hope this makes you think of your dreams and helps you to put into action a plan to make your little corner of the world a little happier, brighter and kinder.

Thank you for visiting The Musings of My Heart  - a hopeful heart today and I wish you well as you share your dreams and live your hopes.,

HAPPINESS IS ...........

Good afternoon from Adelaide where the sky is grey and the atmosphere warm.  We are promised rain tomorrow and Tuesday but I am certain the heat will be back again soon.

It is a quiet and peaceful Sunday - not even neighbours are mowing lawns, so it is very quiet and very lovely.  I read the quote above and thought how very true !
Remember buttering your toast and spreading the jam right to the edges and then of course having to lick your fingers ?

I hope that you are able to lick your fingers and enjoy the happiness that has spread right through your day.  Indeed,  I hope that the happiness sticks to your fingers and accompanies you wherever you go.

Be sure to share with those you meet along your way.

It seems so long ago since Christmas and New Year - my family is almost all home now and settling back into the work routine  - and for some of them it is a nice feeling - the security of a routine and organized life.   Others are not quite so convinced about it.

Soon the seasons will be changing and we will be approaching another special Holiday time - Easter  (much to my chagrin there are Easter Eggs and Hot Cross Buns in the shops already !! )

The joy of anticipation is a wonderful thing - I recall as a child just how long it seemed from Christmas to Christmas and how exciting it was to look forward to a birthday or school holidays.    May you never lose your sense of wonder or anticipation and always keep hope on your horizon.    I always look forward to when the days get shorter and the shadows longer and suddenly there is an autumn chill in the late afternoon air.

Thank you for visiting the Musings of My Heart - remember to lick your fingers and be happy.

Love and hugs,

SUNDAY SUNSHINE AND FLOWERS

Sunshine around in my little corner of the world this afternoon and blossom by blossom the spring begins.

It is a very pretty time of year as the world awakes from sleeping and starts to make little buds and shoots of green and blossom - the birds were singing a lot louder this morning and there seemed to be more smiles from people.

I have shared some spring flowers with you today to brighten your day and give you an idea of the joys that surround us in our springtime.

I hope that there is Sunshine in your heart today and that you are enjoying the pleasures of a nice weekend, however you are spending it.

I am thankful for safe travels for a friend who arrived home today from her trip to England and Scotland - it will be nice to catch up with her and hear the news of her nephew's wedding.

Thank you for visiting the Musings of my Heart - a heart that is truly thankful for so many things - for friendship, love and laughter, shared messages and photographs, health and happiness.

Love and hugs,

A WONDERFUL WINTER WEDNESDAY

Good Morning to you all and it is Wednesday morning in my little corner of the world and the day is sunny, clear but very windy - almost spring like.
There are blossoms on the almond tree and the petals are being blown all over the garden and are very pretty.  The wind is very cool but it is a lovely day.

Wednesday - mid week and after today we are heading to another weekend and whether we are employed or not the weekend is always a special time - a time when we try to relax, enjoy family excursions, shop at leisure and spend time with those we love. Winter weekends hold long hours of warmth, hot chocolate and a good book or DVD.  Summer for those who are there can involve picnics in a park or at the beach, splashing in water and icy cold drinks.

Whatever you do today or at the coming weekend, try to be happy and enjoy - and this quote today reminds us that we cannot force happiness but we can actively not allow sadness to win.

There are times in each day when we go from highs of happiness to lows of sadness - we must remember to bounce back from the sad times  and claim the happiness that we have.

There are days when the sky seems grey and the clouds gather and our health very often affects how we feel.   If you are unwell right now I hope for better days ahead for you and strength to accept where you are and not let the sadness win.

Think about the children you know or have known and how quickly they go from laughter to tears (and back again) - they don't linger in the sadness as the happiness wins there most of the time.

My neighbour is cutting lawns right now and the smell of newly mown grass is on the wind and is lovely - it takes me back to childhood days and memories are sweet.

With all the rain we have had the weeds here are loving it and growing very well and there are always many to pull.    I love the changing of the seasons and the first indications that change is in the air - blossoms, daffodils, windy days and more daylight hours - I love life and accept each day with a thankful heart.

I hope that today you can find joy in the little things - can stop and smell the flowers, walk with a child, feel the sun on your back and warmth in your heart.
Take care on the roads, I wish for green lights for you and I hope that there is lovely coffee/tea and that you don't have to wait too long in queues for groceries or fuel.

Have a wonderful wonderful Wednesday and thank you for visiting the Musings from my Heart - a thankful happy heart.

Love and hugs,

A HAPPY ATTITUDE - Welcome to Monday

Good Morning from a sunny little corner of the world, but where it is cold and beautiful.   My city and my country are in the grip of Election Fever - with an election campaign of five weeks being announced yesterday - We go to the Polls on September 7th.l

I love the political debate and the campaigning and the passion that people have for their party of choice, but what I do not like at all is the way that people let it affect their attitude to others and the arguments that follow.

Please make your choice in an informed manner, but please respect the choice that others make - that is the joy and privilege of living in a democracy.  Respect the right of others to make a choice just as you have that right - even if you disagree.     Please agree to disagree without any nastiness or venom.

We do have the choice to make ourselves miserable or happy and both require energy and effort - I am choosing happiness - how about you  ?

I am finding joy in the little things of life, the fact that I live where I am free to vote and make choices, the fact that spring is in the air here in Adelaide - I have beautiful daffodils waiting to bloom and the almond blossom is out and white petals are flying around my garden in the strong breeze.

I wake each day with a thankful heart for so very many things - I am alive and well thanks to a wonderful man who made the choice to be an organ donor and I received the gift of life.

I am thankful for my family - for children who have become wonderful adults making their way in the world and making a difference.  For the friends who love me and care for me and listen to me.  Life is sweet and I am very thankful for the wonderful technology that has allowed me to "meet" many friends on line and to communicate easily with them.

I am thankful for the women who went before me who fought for my right to vote, to work outside the home, and to hold positions of power and importance.

What are you thankful for and what makes you happy  ?   I hope you can easily find joy in the little things of life - I can and do find joy in little things and I am contented and at peace.

Take care and remember to respect each other and the choices that we make.

Love and hugs,

I CELEBRATE LIFE

Today I celebrate life in all it's beauty and with all it's complexities.

I celebrate every breath I take and each morning when I wake reminds me of how lucky I am to be alive.  Each morning brings a new song of gratitude from my soul to the man who gave me the gift of life, to the surgical teams and nursing staffs who restored me to health, stood me back on my feet and helped me on my way.

I am thankful for my family who cared for me and loved me when I was unlovable because that's when I needed them most.

I celebrate daily the joys of friendship and the kindnesses shown to me, the love expressed and the care given.

I celebrate every sunrise, sunset, rain storm and the changing of the seasons which all serve to remind me that I am alive to see them happening.

I embrace cool shady spots on hot days, hot chocolate by the fire in winter, lovely books, perfume, flowers, outings with friends, deep and meaningful conversations with those who love me just the way I am and who rejoice that I am still here.

I am taking this life I have been gifted and grasping it with both hands and although I know I live on borrowed time, I am happy and living my life to the full.

My words for 2013 are "celebrate" and "embrace" and I know I made the right choice with those as I know also did my dearest friend did when he chose "Carpe Diem"  - I celebrate and embrace and seize every day.

Take hold of your life, grasp it with both hands and waste not a moment in self pity, wallowing and misery - find joys in the smallest things, laugh, love and be silly - splash in puddles, dance in the rain, walk by the river and splash in the sea.

CELEBRATE and EMBRACE your life.

Thank you for visiting the Musings of this pensive, thoughtful and happy heart and go peacefully and celebrate and enjoy.

Love and hugs,
Linda.
