IT'S FRIDAY AND IT'S PEACEFUL IN MY LITTLE CORNER OF THE WORLD.

Good Morning and welcome to my little corner of the world - in fact by the time this blog is posted it will be afternoon.  My world is sunny now - cool and beautiful after a rainy night.  After weeks of anticipation we have arrived at the first day of Easter.

My family got together last night and celebrated all that we have to be thankful for - it was lovely to see everyone sharing time, discussions and situations that have caused them pain or laughter.  We had food  everywhere - the lovely pre -dinner nibbles of chips/biscuits and dips - then a sort of Welcome to Winter and cooler weather meal of soups, pastries and lovely breads.   A lovely lemon and raspberry cheesecake with hazelnuts, and of course Hot Cross Buns and coffee.  Too much food but a lovely time nonetheless.

In previous years it has been Hot Cross Buns and Coffee for morning tea on Good Friday - but this year it is different - problems with work and study have brought about changes and I have to and am comfortable with that.   I have had a lovely evening with them all and now they are off on their journey to fit in all the other things that they have to do.

My home is quiet and the streets are quiet too - very peaceful and contemplative and I thought of lots of the peace songs from my youth and the music with this page seemed to fit best of all.

Now I've been happy lately,
thinking about the good things to come
And I believe it could be,
something good has begun

Oh I've been smiling lately,
dreaming about the world as one
And I believe it could be,
some day it's going to come

Cause out on the edge of darkness,
there rides a peace train
Oh peace train take this country,
come take me home again

Now I've been smiling lately,
thinking about the good things to come
And I believe it could be,
something good has begun

Oh peace train sounding louder
Glide on the peace train
Come on now peace train
Yes, peace train holy  roller

Everyone jump upon the peace train
Come on now peace train

Get your bags together,
go bring your good friends too
Cause it's getting nearer,
it soon will be with you

Now come and join the living,
it's not so far from you
And it's getting nearer,
soon it will all be true

Now I've been crying lately,
thinking about the world as it is
Why must we go on hating,
why can't we live in bliss

Cause out on the edge of darkness,
there rides a peace train
Oh peace train take this country,
come take me home again

We certainly live in a troubled world and on this special day of the year my wish is for Peace in all it's forms - peace in relationships, in families, communities, cities and countries - peace for our world. I have spent a lovely hour on the telephone with Rebecca this morning and we have talked of many things and it was beautiful to discuss things and for me to know that although she is making her own life very well she still respects my opinion and judgement.
However you spend this special day take the time to look around you, to talk with your family and to really listen to what they are saying.   Take an interest in their work, encourage them for the world rests in their hands.
I know that for many of you the road is rough and the pathway uncertain and I understand very well how that feels and I am pleased to say that I have gone through deep water and come out the other side and now at this stage of my life I am more at home with myself than ever.

Having faced my own mortality and been  blessed to have been given a second chance at life  - I look at things very differently - may you also find joy in the little things of life.

May the beauty of a star filled sky enchant you, the crunch of autumn leaves beneath your feet excite you and may peace in your heart exhilarate you.

Easter Blessings be yours and thank you for taking the time to read "Musings from My Heart." - a thankful heart this morning.

My Gratitude this morning is"

"I am thankful that although we live in a troubled world there is peace in my heart."

You are extremely fortunate to feel this Linda and it is of course well deserved for you, you have been through so much. All I can say is I put my faith and trust in God when the going gets rough I know he is there guiding and carrying me.
Many Easter Blessings to you and I always try and catch up with your blogs.
