Good Morning and welcome to Monday with just a hint of melancholy from me - you know the sort of thing you feel when a much anticipated event has come and gone. It was a lovely time with family and friends for me yesterday and I guess I just didn't want it to end. But, end it must and did and I shall have to find some other lovely thing to enjoy the anticipation of.
Yesterday sitting in a sheltered area outside and enjoying a lovely barbeque I became very aware of the falling leaves and the fact that Autumn is indeed with us. It is my favourite season of the year and I have trouble believing
the days have rolled on and we are graced with her lovely presence again. I love the colours, the chill - I love everything about it - even the song Autumn Leaves - you enjoy it too.
I was spoiled for choice as to which track to select - it could have been Frank Sinatra, Natalie Cole or Andy Williams, but I chose Andy Williams because of memories of a concert I attended when he sang this. Another snippet of melancholy.
This is the second concerto of Vivaldi's Four Seasons - Autumn.
We have had lots of lovely rain and blessings abound for me - I spent lots of time yesterday soaking up the company of my daughters and enjoying the lovely young women they have become - so different and both beautiful.
Friendship is a beautiful thing and shared thoughts are special.
My Gratitude for this Monday Morning is:
I am grateful for good food, good company and celebrations.
Another light on my horizon is a concert with friends in June - we are going to see the Soweto Gospel Choir - music, colour, dance and friendship - should be great.
The sun is peeping through the clouds and this day holds the promise of so many things - just the pleasure of taking things slowly brings joy. I had a better night but there were still those wakeful times. I always do lots of thinking during those times and I spent lots of time thinking that these are my Autumn days and that they too are beautiful and filled with the harvest of the things I have sown. Friendships long established and still enjoyed, daughters raised and on their own journey and me - well I am alive and well and loving the Autumn of my life.
AUTUMN DAYS
It is autumn in Australia
Days are getting chill,
Leaves are gently dropping
Falling where they will.
The wind is whipping the water
On the river on its rise,
Storm clouds often gather
Before our very eyes.
The willows bend and quiver
The ripples make their way
Across the cold cold water
On this cool and lonely day.
The cycle path is busy
And people stroll and talk
It is really lovely
To take an autumn walk.
It’s nice to watch the children play
On swings and climbing rails
Watching them on this autumn day
Brings joy that never fails.
And as I sit and watch them
I wonder where the years have flown
The days are quickly flying by
Faster than I have ever known
So I sit by the river bank
In the autumn of my days
I sit and try to understand
Life’s complicated ways.
Yet as life’s threads are woven
And the picture comes into view
I am grateful for each dawning
And every promise new.
And every promise new.

Whatever season of your life you are in - be sure to stop long enough to enjoy all the things around you - the music, the laughter, the care of friends, and for those in the Southern Hemisphere perhaps you can enjoy some autumn leaves.
I am going to try to go to the River near my home and see just how many leaves are scattered and drifting down. I will take my camera and hopefully be able to show you where I took my journey and the leaves I kicked through.
To those in the Northern Hemisphere - enjoy your springtime with all the promise it holds and the beautiful reawakening of nature. I hope it reawakens in you the beauty of your world long hidden by the snows of winter.
Have a wonderful Monday and I hope it is just the beginning of a beautiful week for you all and I send love and hugs and thanks for visiting to read "The Musings from My Heart."

I selected the music of Andy Williams to read by this morning.
The Soweto Gospel Choir is amazing and a very full body experience which I know you will enjoy immensely.
Thank you, for your love of Autumn, all nature and our world
Lynne
