All Things Bright and Beautiful
Welcome to my world and my celebration of Earth Day - Officially April 22nd.
We live in a beautiful although troubled and seemingly out of control world and
Earth Day is a day that is intended to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth's natural environment.
I can find so much to be thankful for this Thankful Thursday about our world and the beauty of it brings me to tears at times. I could not begin to say what part of our world is my favourite - I love the dark brown earth and ochre colours, the waterfalls, the rivers and the oceans, the fields of ripening grain, the purple headed mountain................
- All things bright and beautiful,All creatures great and small,All things wise and wonderful:The Lord God made them all.
- Each little flow’r that opens,Each little bird that sings,He made their glowing colors,He made their tiny wings.
- The purple-headed mountains,The river running by,The sunset and the morningThat brightens up the sky.
- The cold wind in the winter,The pleasant summer sun,The ripe fruits in the garden,He made them every one.
- The tall trees in the greenwood,The meadows where we play,The rushes by the water,To gather every day.
- He gave us eyes to see them,And lips that we might tellHow great is God Almighty,Who has made all things well.
I am very aware that we have not treated our world very well and that there is so much devastation around us and this is a piece I wrote some years ago about "Mother Earth" -
MOTHER EARTH
In a world of flowers and sunshine
What have we done to you Mother Earth?
We have treated you so badly
You, who gave us birth.
We have polluted and silted up your rivers
And made the ice floes melt,
Such pain and such great agony
All around us now is felt.
Carbon emissions and chemical spills,
Oil slicks on your water,
What heritage are we leaving
For every son and daughter?
There is so much I want to do
To restore you to your health,
To bring you back to a time
Of beauty and natural wealth.
I will try to do my little bit
In any way I can,
I shall try to teach these things
To my fellow man.
I’ll turn the lights off in my home
When they are no longer needed,
I will talk to my children
And hope that they have heeded.
Re-cycling will be my theme
In my world and in my home,
I shall work for cleaner oceans
And clear white seaside foam.
Protection of the animals
Entrusted to my care,
Will be the theme of my message
To people everywhere.
Hope will be my message,
And love will be my theme,
I want to work with all of you
To bring about my dream.

Look after our planet - be kinder to our world, pick up your rubbish - leave only footprints and take only photographs - enjoy every sunrise and sunset. Get your hands dirty as you plant things in the earth. I am not a gardener but I do like to have some things growing and I am looking forward to planting some daffodil bulbs for springtime blooming.
My gratitude for today is:
"I am grateful for my world - all things bright and beautiful."
So on this Thankful Thursday - my heart is full and there are visions in mind of all the things "Bright and Beautiful" which bring joy and beauty to my days.
Living in this beautiful world is made sweeter and more beautiful because of all the things I have and am - my friends, my family, the sights, sounds and colours of my world. The very fact that I am alive and well makes the world more beautiful.
Thank you for taking the time to visit "The Musings from My Heart" and I wish you a beautiful and aware Earth Day and send love and hugs your way.

Tread lightly on our world and leave only footprints in the sand and in our souls.
Share the joys and love of this world with others and upcoming generations.
Teach the children well, they are it's caretakers when we no longer able.
To the Earth, Happy Earth Day
