WINTERY, WEDNESDAY, WONDERINGS AND WET

Welcome to my little corner of the world on this cold Wednesday morning - I love Wednesdays as each of them is a celebration for me - another week of life after transplant.   67 weeks today and loving it and I hope you can share my joy at living.

We are forecast some showers today and I hope that you are able to share your umbrella with a friend - share more than your umbrella - share your smile, your care and your heart.

I enjoy rainy days and walking in the rain on days when the wind is low and not blowing a gale.   I am not a friend of the wind, but walking in soft and steady rain is lovely - splashing in puddles with children is a wonderful way to pass some cherished time.

There are so many lovely things to notice in our world after rain - a spider web with diamonds of rain on it, tiny droplets of rain on the last rose of the season, shiny leaves on the gum tree and the beautiful smell of damp earth.
I really enjoy the way the whole garden seems to sigh with relief and pleasure after showers of rain.  The colours seem brighter, clearer and the air seems refreshed and renewed.

Those of you walking to work in the rain are probably not relishing it all as much as I am - grab your umbrella and take some clothes to work to change in case you do get really wet.  Lovely dry shoes and dry clothes after being wet cheers me.

Memories of other winters and children coming home from school soaked to the skin and very cold are clear in my mind.   It was hot showers all round and then soup from a pot on the stove ready and waiting for them.  Then all those wet clothes and shoes to be dried - lovely parts of motherhood for me.

I have lovely memories of one particular winter and taking the children on their bicycles in the rain to our local Supermarket car park where there were puddles in abundance.  I recall riding through those puddles with feet raised high and I can still hear the squeals of laughter from the children and the strange looks from those sitting all safe and dry in their cars.   They must have thought this Mother rather crazy - well maybe I was but it provided lots of laughter and memories. Then going home to get dry and warm - special time.

Warm kitchens with beautiful smells emanating from them, soups, casseroles and home made breads and buns - all beautiful comfort foods certainly bringing  comfort.

Search your memory bank and see what wet weather memories you can find or make some new ones - walk in the rain or in the sun - just enjoy our beautiful world - wet or dry.

I have just remembered a winter camping trip in rain and wind - funny times, but some not so nice memories there.   It was cold and wet and miserable and camping is not my thing at all.

I am sitting here at six in the morning listening to the sounds of silence and the rain on my roof and realizing I am making more memories and that I should be grateful for this time and space and the opportunity to share my little corner of the world with you all.  I am off now to take my morning medication which although I almost rattle when I walk, I am thankful for it because it is keeping me alive.

My gratitude for today is:

"I am grateful for the umbrella of friendship which shelters me."

I wish you safe travelling on wet roads, shelter from the rain, a shared umbrella or smile and friends to bring joy to your heart.  Sending love and hugs and thanks for visiting to read "The Musings From My Heart".

Toe tapping to Perry made reading awkward, but I coped and smiled.

67 weeks is a huge milestone, any plans for the big 70? Gratitude from me to the donor for giving you this amazing gift.

I love the car park story, I would have loved to see it and wouldn't be in my car but out asking for a ride!

It is sunny here and a glorious day, so no puddles today for me to play in so am watching the butterflies flitting around me, and I am sure there are children splashing for me.

Thanks and Hugs

Rain has cleared here in Adelaide and I do believe the sun is going to shine. Glad you enjoyed Perry too - I love his music.

Love and hugs,
Linda.
