SATURDAY MORNING - SUNSHINE, SHOPPING AND SENTIMENT

Come Saturday Morning - The Sandpipers

I love this song and the reason is that I was married on a Saturday Morning and my Father sang it to me as we waited for the time to pass ready to leave for the Church.

Saturday seems to be the only day that I have a particular routine in my otherwise "unbusy" week and it is shopping morning which I do early to avoid crowds - a. because of the noise and chaos in the supermarket, and b. to reduce the amount of people I have contact with in an attempt to keep myself free of infection.
Shopping involves taking anti bacterial wipes with me and wiping down the handles of the shopping trolley and at times I wear those thin gloves - it's not a great look, but it is all helping me stay alive.  It is not a big price to pay and I know there are others who do similar things - Our Friend Vicki would take her own cutlery with her if she were eating out but those days of eating out are over for her.

Vicki is in the advanced stages of Breast Cancer and is really struggling at the moment to breathe because of swelling and she is sleeping such a lot of the time.  She knows that her illness is terminal and was determined to be here to see her baby granddaughter born.   Olivia-Rose was born on March 27th. and time is running out for Vicki - please remember her in your prayers or send some positive healing and comforting vibes her way.  She got to meet Olivia-Rose and to hold her in her arms and I know that was so important to her.  The family is Peter and Vicki, Mallory, Sam and Olivia-Rose - they all need our prayers and love.
It saddens me that she will no longer be part of my life, but I shall always remember the courage and strength of the fight she put up.
She fought like a girl.
These are the Boxing gloves I often would send in messages to encourage her in her fight.  I know Vicki would want me to encourage you, order you, make you have a Mammogram and to seek further advice if you are not happy with the result.

It's Mother's Day tomorrow and it is a first Mother's Day for some, a special Mother's Day for others who are "infanticipating" and doubly so for those who are expecting twins. Celebrate Love, Mothers, Children, Families - celebrate Life itself.

May this be a special Mother's Day for those Mothers who can celebrate their child's life because of the wonders of medicine and surgery and and whose children have survived transplant and gone on to be healthy young people.  Two of these Mums are Dorie and Queisha and this time last Mother's Day their sons were in the very early days of Post Transplant and I am sure their hearts rejoice to be a year on.

Dorie and Queisha

I am sure that Crosby and Tater are very proud of you.

However you spend your Saturday - have fun, smile, sing, dance, splash in puddles.  if you have to work make the best of it and be pleasant to be with in your work place.  Life is beautiful, and although there are bumps in most roads, we are able to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and start all over again.
Find some space to enjoy your world - the beach, an orchard where trees are blossoming, a river with autumn leaves floating down.  Enjoy your coffee, enjoy your life. Enjoy Mother's Day.

Thanks for taking the time to visit "The Musings from My Heart" and for reading what's on my mind this morning.

Love and hugs,

"I am grateful for a helping hand at the Supermarket and the smile that came with it."

How lovely a song for your Dad to sing to you!

I pray that Vicki gets this Mothers Day with her family. How priceless a smile from Olivia-Rose would be. The whole family is an inspiration, and show me what a family really is. Thank you so much for the Vicki update

The most precious gifts are those you can't wrap
and I hope you receive many of these on Mothers Day
Hugs xxxx
