SUNDAY MORNING SUNRISE, SUNSET. SWIFTLY FLY THE YEARS

Sunrise over Adelaide.

Sunrise/Sunset from Fiddler on the Roof

"Is this the little girl I carried,
Is this the little boy at play?

I don't remember growing older,
When did they?

When did she get to be a beauty,
When did he grow to be so tall?

Wasn't it yesterday when they were small?
Sunrise, sunset,
Sunrise, sunset,
Swiftly flow the days.

Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers,
Blossoming even as we gaze.
[ Lyrics from: http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyr/f/fiddler_on_the_roof/sunrise_sunset.html
Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly fly the years,
One season following another,
Laiden with happiness and tears.

What words of wisdom can I give them,
How can I help to ease their way?
Now they must learn from one another,
Day by day.

They look so natural together.
Just like two newlyweds should be.
Is there a canopy in store for me?
Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly fly the years,

One season following another,
Laiden with happiness,
And tears."

On this Mother's Day morning I write from a heart filled with wonder at our beautiful world and the speed at which time travels.  Today I will celebrate with the young people in my life and see before me the amazing transformation that has taken place before my eyes.   "Wasn't it yesterday when they were small?"

Was I too busy being Mother to see all the details that were happening to them?  Where did the time go? "One season following another"  - I should have realized when Rebecca talked about liking Autumn best of all, that she had seen lots of Autumns in her life.

"When did she get to be a beauty?" - I always thought they were beautiful and I recall the young man in my life - "When did he get to be so tall (he is very tall and has to bend to hug me.).

I recall all the young people I have been proud to have as part of my life and see them through  different eyes as they take their places in commerce, education and halls of learning.  I see some with children of their own and that brings an awareness of how time flies when Grace tells me she is going to be seven soon.

I don't remember growing older - when did they ?

As you watch your "seedings turn overnight to sunflowers" take time to look at them as they blossom and be proud of the people they have become and take pride in the fact that you have been part of that blossoming and growth.  You have nurtured them and helped them become the beautiful people that they are.

Step back and know that you have given them roots to anchor them and wings that they may fly.

Have a wonderful Mother's Day and as you watch them soar let your heart soar with them.

"What words of wisdom can I give them,
How can I help to ease their way?
Now they must learn from one another,
Day by day."

My thoughts and love go out to those who are grieving for their Mother, and those who have lost their babies and have empty arms and empty cradles, those who were forced in earlier days to give up their baby and of course those whose lives were never graced with children, but who do "Mother things".

Thank you for visiting and reading "The Musings from my Heart" this Mother's Day Morning - it is a full and thankful heart that for me Motherhood has been a cherished part of my life - the best job I ever had.

Love and hugs,

Sunset at Grange Jetty near home.

"I am grateful for each new sunrise and sunset".

That is lovely, enjoy your day with those Sunflowers and remember you planted them with a purpose. Treasure them.
Seasons of change are new things to wonder at.
I am grateful Mother Earth renews herself and I can admire the beauty

We may be getting older, but we stay as young as we feel
