WEDNESDAY - MY FAVOURITE DAY.

Fly me to the moon - Frank Sinatra

It rained in this fair City last night but stopped long enough for me to spend a little time outside gazing at a beautiful crescent moon in a clear diamond studded sky.  I love the moon and all she represents and I clearly acknowledge the pull the moon has on the tides and on my life.  I love the moon and the night sky and often spend time just looking and taking it all in.

This morning I have woken to a very cold day and up until now it has been very grey, but there is a hint of sunlight out there now.  It is the wind causing the cold here today it is quite icy - winter ahead of time I think. Winter clothing today.

Earlier, out driving I noticed the shades of grey in the sky and there were many ranging from a dark charcoal to a silver white and all shades of pewter and silver in between.  In a stark way it was very beautiful.  There is beauty all around us - we just need to look to see it.

I am having a quiet day today after yesterdays little piece of busy - I shall be staying home and forgoing lunch with friends because I am feeling rather flat.  Nothing of any problem but fatigue I think and I have learned to address these issues as they arrive and do what it takes to restore.   A nap this afternoon  should see me feeling better and at least warm.  I have soup (beef and vegetable) on the stove cooking and that lovely aroma certainly evokes many winter memories.  I love the comfort foods of winter - those that fill the house with beautiful smells - salads are lovely but they don't have that fragrance.

I like to cook casseroles, curries, vegetable and potato bakes and of course the lovely soups.
If you have any recipes that you would like to share email them to me and I shall be happy to share them through this blog.

I remember when the children were small -coming home from school in the rain, hot bath and into pyjamas and then dinner by the fire - I wonder if they remember those times.  Then stories and games and off to bed  to stay snug and warm through the night.

Wherever you are and whatever your weather is like - I hope the sun is shining in your heart and that you can find the joy of colour, music, laughter and friendship.  If there are flowers in your garden pick some and bring that garden inside but if, like me the days are cold I hope you are able to stay warm and enjoy all things winter.

Be kind and gentle with our world - she gives so much of herself in trust to us.  Be also kind and gentle with the people of the world - love and care for each other.

Thank you for taking the time to visit and read The Musings from My Heart" on this chilly morning.

Love and hugs,
"I am grateful today for warmth now that winter is settling in."

What a stunning moon!
Enjoy your curl up in the cold and a home that smells of soup is truly a home to come to.

Hope you enjoyed snuggling up inside today Linda. It sure was a cold one here as well. I made beef and vegetable soup today too, it's lovely aroma is filling the house as I type. I so love the moon and enjoy watching the night sky when I get the chance. I believe we are all affected by and connected to the cycle of the moon.
