COLOUR MY WORLD

Good afternoon from a very warm city of Adelaide - where it has been a lovely summer day - bright blue sky and white fluffy clouds and no wind and we are promised much hotter days but, this is Australia and this is summer.

It was a perfect day for laundry and drying things on the clothes line in the sun and I have now brought in my bed linen, all fresh and smelling very nice and feeling warm and dry.    The towels are fluffy and lovely.   I took coffee outside in the shade and enjoyed the warmth and looked around me.    The colours on my clothes line were bright and beautiful from hot pink sheets, peach coloured towels and many different colours of clothing.

As I sat there I thought about how much colour affects us and our daily life and how many words in our language relate to colour.   We use phrases about colour, and the clothes we wear are many and varied.    We have favourite colours - my own handbag is quite full of many shades of pink and when I receive gifts for my birthday etc. you can bet it will be wrapped in pink paper and the card will be pink too.

I have a different colour theme for Christmas each year and had pink one year, pink and purple another year and teal another year.

Christmas 2015 will be celebrated in gold and silver with a touch of either red or purple, and I am not certain which one yet - I have table cloths in both red and purple.

I could talk for a long time about colour and the affect it has on our lives - I enjoy very much matching things and getting things in order and decorating my Christmas tree in these tones and hues.

Bright red can cheer our mood, when we are miserable we are said to be "blue", when we are cowardly we are yellow and green represents jealousy.

When serving meals it is lovely to add bright green, red and yellow vegetables to make it appetizing and attractive.

Colour does impact on our lives on every day in every way - in little ways - just a splash of colour.    A grey and white bathroom with a vase of dried flowers spray painted red looks much brighter.  Our moods can be brightened by that splash of colour.    Grey clothing can be brightened with a colourful scarfe or bracelet - so my challenge to you today is to add some colour to your life.

We live in a beautiful world full of colour and each season brings new palettes of colour - autumn with it's reds and yellows,  spring with it's purples and yellows, summer with blue skies and white fluffy clouds and winter with grey sky and green grass.   Enjoy it all.

Brighten your days, your home and your environment with a big splash of colour.

Life is a blank canvas - get out there and splash as much colour on it as you can.

Thank you for visiting the Musings of My Heart and I look forward to you hearing that your canvas is complete with much colour and you have brightened the corner where you are.

Love and hugs,
