IT'S WEDNESDAY AND COLOUR MY WORLD.

Thank you for sharing my little corner of the world and all the colours that make it so special.

Enjoy Petula Clark and Colour My World.

I love Wednesdays - the middle of the week and quite like a marker that we are half way through the week.  I guess it is also a special day for me because each Wednesday marks another week in the colourful journey that is my life.  Another week since transplant - 66 weeks today and I recall lying in my hospital bed at one week out and having the Staff sing "Happy Birthday" to me for that one week anniversary.  Special times, special people and special life.

I sat outside in the early morning chill (with coffee) and the cat around my legs and watched the sun rise this morning - just Chloe and me watching another miracle and a beautiful painting appear.

I was stunned by the beauty of it all - it is there every morning, but rarely do I actually make a date with nature and just watch.  The sky lightened and the colours were amazing.   Soft pinks, pretty peach colours, blues and misty greys - it was glorious and it prompted my gratitude for today to be:

"I am grateful for the colours all around me."

If you look closely at the tags at the start and end of this blog for today you will see the words "festival of colour" - most appropriate.   These tags were also made by my very talented friend Christina.  Last night I met Christina for the very first time in the flesh and we had dinner together.   It was lovely, there was no getting to know each other - we have already done that over 8 years of emailing etc. It was just friends meeting for a meal to share laughter and conversation.  It was delightful and here are some photos - the conversation was easy, the laughter sincere and it was a lovely meal too.  It was just as I knew it would be.

and again
John
Jeff

They traveled from Mildura yesterday morning and came to grief when they hit a kangaroo in the early morning sunshine which did some damage to their car and they had no lights, so it gave us pleasure to collect them from their accommodation and to return them after dinner.   Was nice to talk in the car about the things around us.  Things that those of us living here take so much for granted.

Lovely meal and lovely company but another late night for me and I am slow this morning and will just be taking things very quietly, although I do have to go to have my Flu shot this morning.  All adding to the colours of my life.

In case you haven't guessed the colour I much prefer is pink, if something comes in pink - then that's the one I choose.  My new phone is pink, I wear lots of pink, things on my desk are pink (scissors, pens, stapler etc.) my bedlinen is mostly pink and on my wish list is a pink Argyle Diamond ring.

Although I love pink I really do see beauty in so many other colours - there are just too many shades and hues to mention - I love the rose "Champagner"

Champagner Rose
My beautiful golden Daffodil
"Mary Rose" - a beautiful David Austin
Jonquil "Erlicheer"
and that isn't even scratching the surface of those I could share with you.

I love the soft blue/grey of Blue Gum, red petunias for Christmas flowering, the deep purple of violets and the rich brown of damp earth.  Green of summer grass and the rich red/gold colours of autumn.

Take some time to look around you at the colours of your world - the blue eyes of your family, the rich red hair, soft blond curls, a beard that was red but now is silver white.  Within each colour there are so many shades and that how we are too - within each one of us there are so many shades of mood and thought.

As you walk through your day take a look and there is colour all around you and often we refer to our mood by colour "having the blues" "tickled pink"
"green for jealousy" "yellow for cowardice" and each colour does have a representative meaning:

Have a look at this link and see what the meanings of your particular favourite is:

Pink is the color of universal love. Pink is a quiet color. Lovers of beauty favor pink. A pink carnation means "I will never forget you".

Pink Energy

Pink is a combination of red and white. The quality of energy in pink is determined by how much red is present. White is the potential for fullness, while red helps you to achieve that potential. Pink combines these energies. Shades of deep pink, such as magenta, are effective in neutralizing disorder and violence. Some prisons use limited deep pink tones to diffuse aggressive behaviour.
Pink provides feelings of caring, tenderness, self-worth and love, acceptance.

Put some pink in your life when you want:
  • calm feelings
  • to neutralize disorder
  • relaxation
  • acceptance, contentment
That's the description for my pink - hope you find yours interesting.

The people all around me bring colour to my life and I am grateful for that.  All who visit here bring colour to my day.  I didn't really realize until I started this just how important colour is in our lives - going to take care to notice more today and be thankful for colour.

I recall arriving in Broken Hill late on an early spring afternoon when the sun was going down and seeing the beautiful ochre colours of the earth pitched against an azure sky.  Until that moment I had not understood the art of "The Brushmen of the Bush."

I wish for you a colourful day as you become more aware of the importance of colour in your life and revisit the beauty around you.

Much love and many hugs and thank you again for visiting "The Musings from My Heart."
