STORMY WEATHER

Welcome to my morning and welcome to Monday - a very unsettled day in Adelaide with the promise of thunder storms later in the day.  The rain will be nice to have and so too will the cool change that is coming later in the day.

(Lena Horne singing Stormy Weather)

However at the moment the sun is shining and it is HOT - soon, soon we will have beautiful autumnal days and I am looking forward to those.

I love the turning of the seasons when the days become shorter and the mornings darker, the changes in the colours of the leaves on the trees.  I love those afternoons when around 3.30 there is a chill in the air and a change in the mood of the world as she settles down for the night.

I love those evenings when it is nice to have a nice meal cooking and lovely aromas floating through the house.  Casseroles and oven baked dinners - the smells of home.

However we are still in salad days and easy meals without making the house hotter by a hot kitchen are the order of the day.  Cold chicken and crisp salads suit me well.

The hot weather really knocks me around and I shall be staying out of the heat today and counting my blessings that I can do so.  I have spent the last two summers in hospital and lost touch with coping with the heat but I am learning well to just do what I have to do and then take it easy.  I am very blessed.

The hot weather causes swollen feet for me and I can feel them tight this morning, so that may mean a rest this afternoon with my feet up - what more could a girl want - a good book and feet up.

I am waiting for a parcel and hoping that too arrives today - I love the Postal Service which carries surprises,  gifts and ordered things my way.   I do a lot of shopping "on line" and I know it costs for postage but the convenience of it is wonderful - I look on line, order it, pay for it and it comes to me.  The wonders of technology.  I bought lots of Christmas gifts from a Sydney based shop - "Peter's of Kensington" and love to browse through their collection.

Have a look at their site and sign up to receive an email of their special offers - I get an email twice weekly and look forward to it.  If it is available in Australia I am almost certain Peter's has it.

No doubt all over the world there are Discount Houses that advertise on line and where you can order and have things delivered.  I find it so easy - no crowds, no heavy parcels to carry and it is delivered.

I am well and have blood tests tomorrow and a Specialist appointment on Friday - all part of March Medical Madness.  Next week I have more appointments and then the following week a trip to hospital.

I don't really want to go to hospital - but it is part of my treatment and care - I have to have the billiary stent replaced and am hoping that it will just be a short stay - this is something that has to be done each six months and that isn't a big price to pay for my life and health.

I am off now to take my morning medications "shake me I rattle" but that too is not an issue it is just part of my regime.

I had a lovely start to the week with a phone call from a Brisbane friend - Megan it was delightful to hear your voice and to know that you are coping well and also to learn how much Bethany is growing up.  Thank you for that call - it meant a great deal to me. I wish you well with your medical appointments as you so valiantly cope with whatever is tossed your way.  You certainly rise to the challenge.  I am proud of you.

Until next time - thank you for visiting "The Musings of my Heart" and please be safe, well and happy.

Love and hugs,
