BE YOURSELF

Good Morning from Adelaide where the sun is shining, the sky is blue and the day is warm and calm.  I think the weather is warming up and we could have a good dose of summer heat before too long, but I am thankful for the wonderful cool and delicious days that have filled our January this year.  It was cool for the return to School for the children and I am always relieved when it is like that as the heat is draining for everyone especially little ones heading to school for the first time.

The heading for this post is 'BE YOURSELF'  and I hope you are able to do this and if you haven't achieved this, that you can learn to be.     You are YOU - not a copy of anyone else and not in this world to live up to anyone's expectations.

You are precious and loved and very special to someone.   Be warm and caring and extend the hand of friendship to those around you.

Be bold - be proud of who you are and the things you espouse and share your feelings boldly, bearing in mind that you need also be respectful.

Be Thankful - there is always something to be thankful for - it can be something very small - a smile from a stranger, a door being held open for you, a note in the mail saying thankyou, a phone call from a friend.   A "just for" gift.
I am a big advocate of "just for gifts" no matter how small they be.     It is lovely to receive gifts at Christmas and Birthdays, but those "just for" gifts on an uneventful day of the year, just because someone thought of me are very special and often bring joy to an otherwise ordinary day.

Be loving - show your care with a hug and be sure that those you love, know that you love them - tell them you do.

Be Crazy - silliness is wonderful and laughter brings immense joy to you and to those you share those silly times with.

Being spontaneous is wonderful - do something on the spur of the moment - just because you can - splash in puddles, play with the garden hose while watering, step out of your safe zone with confidence.

Be loud - sing loud and long - in the car, in the shower, wherever you are - join in the song you hear in the supermarket - you will be surprised when someone else joins in and there will be smiles - trust me I have done this often.

Be awesome, be random, be unique - BE YOURSELF  -  you are special and your opinions are valid and valued.    You are doing the best you can.  Be gentle with yourself and take time to nurture and nourish your soul.

Splash in puddles, dance in the rain, walk by the ocean and hear the sea birds's plaintive cry. Feel the sand between your toes and collect shells.    Go out for a meal you will enjoy - order something new on the menu - step out in faith and wonder and experience something new.

To those in the northern hemisphere enjoy your snowy days, walk and play in the snow - make snow angels, make a snowman and enjoy the lovely warmth when you come back inside.  Play with your children/grandchildren.

Be unique - there is only one of you and the world is richer for your presence - be who you are - wear the colours you like - even if they are not generally accepted as good colour combinations.    Wear bright colours and jewellery of your choice.   Carry a bright handbag (I am lucky I received a Hot Pink bag for Christmas) and it brightens my day.   I also have bright yellow bag and that too makes me smile.    Wear some flowers in your hair (or a ribbon) ( there is a little bit of Hippie in all of us.)

BE YOURSELF - your special and important self and step out into the world with confidence and courage - the world will be a better place and you will feel warmth and joy at being just YOU.

Thank you for visiting the Musings of My Heart - an encouraging heart today, one wanting to make this world a brighter happier place and to encourage you to do the same.

Love and hugs,

Dear Linda,
As I read your blog today it reminded me of childhood. And made me feel that it's ok to be me.
I had my granddaughter here, it snowed, she went out and I watched out the window. I opened it and told her try snow angels. She loved that!
Thanks for reminding us to be are grateful for who we are.
Hugs,
Margee xx

I am glad you took a journey back to childhood and also encouraged your granddaughter to make snow angels and I am glad she loved that.

I am grateful for who you are - a constant support and encouragement to me.
