THIS IS THANKFUL THURSDAY

Good Morning Australia and Good Morning World,

Hello from a very damaged Australia - Queensland has endured a night of horror and devastation - and apparently it is looking very much like a battlefield.

TC Cylone Yasi made landfall at about one this morning at a category 5 and the towns of Mission Beach and Tully are almost no longer.

Power lines and mobile towers are down making communication difficult and it is just morning and people are only now starting to come out into the streets and view their shattered world.

This is a Bureau image of an hour ago.

They are still experiencing very strong winds and rain and that Yasi has been downgraded to category 3.

This is a blog from ABC News and that will give you some information.

Please continue to pray for Queensland and lets be thankful that at this stage there is no reported loss of life.

Let's be thankful too for the safe delivery of a baby girl in an evacuation centre in Cairns.  And for a mid-wife on holiday from England who was able to assist with the birth.

I am doing okay - extremely sad and concerned but again finding things to be thankful for.

I will update as I can - Yasi is expected to maintain at Category 3 until at least noon today.

Be safe wherever you are in this very beautiful (although slightly out of control) world.

Love and hugs,
