WELCOME TO RUBY TUESDAY - MAY YOUR DAY SPARKLE AND SHINE

Elton John - Can you feel the love tonight

Good Morning and welcome to Ruby Tuesday - I hope your day sparkles and shines and that you indeed can "feel the love".

A drier day in this City of Churches - cold but we should see some sunshine a little later in our day.

I am shocked and appalled at the news I am hearing from the United Kingdom that the rioting and fires in London have now started in Birmingham and Leeds.  There is such distress, hunger, anger, greed and misery in our world - but it is still a beautiful world.

There is beauty and hope and there is love and I hope that you can feel the love in your little corner of the world.

Weather and world event distress people and bring out the worst in some - we need to still be kind and caring and to be the change we want to see in the world.

I am very aware too of the kindness and care shown by so many in our world and I try to keep the faith and hope for better days.  We can start where we are and be a little kinder to those who need it, a smile, a kind word or action can often dispel anger and ease the load they carry.

In spite of all the distress - go outside in your world and see what is there - find a cool spot, a warm place and spend some time quietly and see the beauty around you.  The seasons of our world   are as perennial as the grasses and soon there will be change - cooler/warmer and life will go on.  Value the things you have in your little corner of the world - your health, your family  and friends, the parks and gardens where you walk.  Just the fact of being able to walk freely in peace must be valued.

DESIDERATA

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
And remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly & clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull & ignorant;
they too have their story.

Avoid loud & aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain & bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing future of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity & disenchantment
it is perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.

But do not distress yourself with imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue & loneliness.
Beyond wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees & the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,

no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labours & aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery & broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.

Strive to be happy - be cheerful.

I wish you a wonderful day, feel the love, be gentle and tender and I send you love and hugs,

Thank you for visiting "The Musings of My Heart"

Love and hugs,
Linda.
