FRIDAY AND THE WIND BENEATH MY WINGS

Good Morning and welcome to Friday 13th. - another beautiful day with just another number - the sky is blue and there are gentle winds blowing here in Adelaide, and it is getting warmer again, which is to be expected because it is summer here in Australia.

It is Friday and I feel like I have been working all week and looking forward to the weekend - I had a day yesterday where I was singing slightly off key, but back in tune today and I am ready to fly again.   Ready to soar on the wings of an eagle and I am thankful for the wind beneath my wings.

It is an amazing feeling to know that despite wobble  that I have those who will catch me when I fall and truly are the wind beneath my wings.   Who help me fly, get my head on straight, turn my thinking around and settle me right back where I belong.

'It must have been cold there in my shadow
To never have sunlight on your face
You were content to let me shine, that's your way
You always walked a step behind

So I was the one with all the glory
While you were the one with all the strength
A beautiful face without a name for so long
A beautiful smile to hide the pain

Did you ever know that you're my hero
And everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle
For you are the wind beneath my wings

It might have appeared to go unnoticed
But I've got it all here in my heart
I want you to know, I know the truth, of course I know it
I would be nothing without you

Did you ever know that you're my hero?
You're everything I wish I could be
I could fly higher than an eagle
For you are the wind beneath my wings

Did I ever tell you you're my hero?
You're everything, everything I wish I could be
Oh, and I, I could fly higher than an eagle
For you are the wind beneath my wings
'Cause you are the wind beneath my wings

Oh, the wind beneath my wings
You, you, you, you are the wind beneath my wings
Fly, fly, fly away, you let me fly so high
Oh, you, you, you, the wind beneath my wings
Oh, you, you, you, the wind beneath my wings

Fly, fly, so high against the sky
So high I almost touch the sky
Thank you, thank you
Thank God for you, the wind beneath my wings."

There is an immense sense of calm for me knowing that when I get all "squirrelly" and out of tune, there is someone there to play the tune back to me so that I can sing in tune again.

There is a sad corner of my heart today - news came through yesterday about my friend Vicki and it is not good news.   Vicki has received news from her Oncologist that there is no more they can do for her, and she is fading fast.
Vicki has left footprints on my heart and has fought this cancer with every fibre of her being and now it is time to let her go.  I wish you a peaceful journey my friend and the knowledge that you were a great wife, a good mother and a wonderful friend.  May your heart be filled with love and peace and the knowledge that you will be missed.   Fly free my Angel you fought like a girl.

I sent you boxing gloves and called you "My Warrior Princess" and that's what you will always be to me - take the wings of an eagle and fly home, you fought long and hard and I am proud to have called you friend.

Give your friends a call, make time to meet, write a letter, just get in touch while you have the chance to do so - the time will come when it is too late - don't be left with things unsaid.

Enjoy another day of your journey and see the beauty all around you in our world - and there is so much of it.    Listen to laughter from children, watch a butterfly, walk barefoot in the grass, play in the rain or the snow.  Store up memories for they will serve you well.

I wish you love and laughter, health and happiness and may your cup run over with the pure joy of living.

Love and hugs and thanks for visiting The Musings from My Heart today - a contented but pensive heart today, with just a tinge of sadness.

Love and hugs,
