SPRING IS IN THE AIR

Good afternoon and welcome to September and Spring in Australia - it is as beautiful spring day - the sun is shining, there is a gentle breeze and the sky is azure blue.   A very pretty day to welcome Spring.

It is Father's Day in the Southern Hemisphere and I shall be celebrating with my family shortly - but before I shut down and get ready I want to share with you how grateful I am for the man who is the Father of my Children - he is kind, considerate, loving and compassionate and I could not ask for better.

THE FATHER OF MY CHILDREN

Written for John with love.

On Father’s Day I think of you
And the children that we share,
You have been a great Father,
And always showed your care.

The children of our hearts ~
Now quite fully grown,
You can reap the benefits
Of the seeds that you have sown.

They love you with a passion,
Laugh and share your days,
You have always been there,
In oh so many ways.

You walked the floor with them
And wiped away their tears
You carried them in your arms
And gently calmed their fears,

You have driven them to University,
To music and their sport,
The time has flown so quickly ~
Much faster than we thought.

You discuss politics with them
And the latest garden news,
Always you have listened
And respected their differing views.

They are who they are
Because they come from you,
I just want to tell you
That I share their pride too.

A special man – a man of few words,
And I know that they are glad,
That you are their special friend
And they can call you “Dad.”

I hope that Fathers Day is a good one for you all - and those whose Dads have left us I hope you are able to enjoy memories of the sweetest kind.

To those who take on the role of Father and to the Mothers who undertake to be Mother and Father to their children - I wish you happiness and rest.  I miss my own Father, but have wonderful memories of laughter, discussion and debate.

Thank you for visiting the Musings of My Heart on Fathers Day and the beginning of Spring - a time of awakening and brighter days.

Love and hugs,
